So I’m pretty sure I met the guy of my dreams on Sunday(April 1st 2012). In a Mayan exhibit ( the 3 p.m. showing) in the ROM (Royal Ontario Museum) in Ontario. I was just walking around looking at the artifacts and reading the information stands and i kept running into these two guys. One looked older and was wearing a brown leather jacket. I noticed him more over the other guy since he was taller. I would be reading something and they’d just look at me. I walk to some other section and then another and next thing i know i’m looking in between them to read a caption and they’re both staring at me. So i just walk to the other side. This happens repeatedly until around the end of the exhibit. I’m standing next to shorter guy reading another information stand. He’s about one or two inches taller than me. He has a light scruffy bread and stache combo. Really tan. Pitch black hair. Really deep eyes. Caring face. Wore a faded greenish-grey v-neck, a bright multi-colored blue cardigan, faded blue-grey straight leg jeans, and grey converse. He had a colorful tattoo of something with tentacles. He had a British accent.
“I like your tattoo”
“Oh! ahhah! Thanks, it’s a squid fighting a _______! It goes all the way up my arm!” (<- I can;t remember what it was fighting)
“I like the tentacles, you know? They’re cool…”
“Pardon?”
“Oh! I said that I liked the tentacles, they’re cool. Tentacles..”
“Oh yeah! Ahaha, they are pretty cool, tentacles,”
-smile at each other and continue reading the information stand-
-I walk over to the next section-
-you walk next to me-
“Have you ever visited this area?” you ask,
“Actually no, but I’ve always wanted to.”
“Yeah, I went down over to Chichen Itza last year it was really cool.”
“Really? that’s amazing! You know, I’ve always wondered… How do they keep the grass so clean and cut all the time? Wouldn’t it be surrounded by really tall grass? You know? Ahaha, “
“Of all the things you could wonder! Although, I do have to say, that grass is pretty maintained! They probably have fancy mowers to cut the grass all the time!”
“I want them to do my lawn! It’s so well taken care of in that picture over there!”
-we both laugh and smile at each other-
- I walk to the next section-
-A few moments later you walk next to me and we watch the rest of the video playing, which is about 10 seconds-
It’s the end of the exhibit and there’s a little gift shop. You enter with the other guy. I realize you two look very much alike. I infer you are brothers or he’s your father or something. You guys are looking at books and I’m just walking around until i find some drawing and paintings of temples and i start to examine them. Then I leave the gift shop. I get lost trying to find my way to the museum entrance because the elevator was broken. Eventually i find my way back to the main floor. I face that that’s the last time I would ever see you again. I’m there with the rest of my extended family putting on a jacket when i see you and the other guy come up from what looks like stairs (I’m not really sure) We see each other from a distance. I want to go up to you and exchange information or have another conversation with you. But you two are walking towards the exit of the museum. I put on my coat and start heading out. While i’m putting on my mittens I realize you’re still there. The other guy is on the phone. You look at me. I look at you and then back at my mittens. You keep looking at me. I hold open the door for someone and I look at you again. As I leave I look at you and smile. It takes you a while but you smile back. Then i head out. Outside of the museum I keep looking back to see if you’re behind us. I’ve lost my chance. I get a feeling in my stomach. I regret greatly not asking for your name or phone number. I regret not talking to you earlier, or not talking to you more. I saw something like this a few months ago and decided “what the heck” since I honestly cannot get you off my mind. If you are reading this, I’d really love to get to know you more.
